Tacoma Artificial Turf for Dogs & Kids (Putting Green for Dad too)

This Lakewood, WA homeowner had just finished remodeling their lake house and wanted a backyard that was as beautiful as the view—without the thought of constant maintenance over the coming years. Their priortites were to spend less time on the yard and more time enjoying our Pacific Northwest weather. Also, with kids and a dog running around, a natural lawn wasn’t practical. They needed something durable, clean, and always green. We installed Bermuda Blend for a soft, natural looking lawn and NP50 for the backyard putting green surface, creating a space that the whole family could enjoy. The homeowners are members of the Tacoma Golf & Country Club on American Lake and wanted the ability to work on their golf game at home so they could improve scores on the course. 

Why Artificial Turf Was the Right Choice 

Being near the lake, the yard was often damp, making it hard to maintain healthy grass and also not enjoyable to use. Our Bermuda Blend turf eliminated muddy patches, keeping the yard clean no matter the weather. The NP50 putting green was a fun addition for the homeowner, who loves golf and wanted a spot to practice while the kids enjoyed playing in the clean backyard space. We always try to avoid using any straight lines on putting greens, due to the length of this project we decided to make the long side mostly straight in order to maximize the usable space.
