Natural

Natural is the product we recommend when a homeowner wants turf that genuinely looks like grass, not like turf. The difference comes down to one thing: how the fibers are constructed. Most artificial grass is tufted in rows, with blades aligned in the same direction. Natural uses a patented Wave Mono fiber that grows in a different direction with every blade, the same way real grass actually grows. The result is a surface that reads as lawn, not carpet, from any angle and in any light.

It is the right choice for backyards in Tacoma, Gig Harbor, Puyallup, and the South Sound where visual realism is the first priority. Softer underfoot than Northwest Blend, with a quieter, more organic appearance suited to naturalistic landscaping, shaded yards, and properties where turf needs to blend into the surrounding environment rather than announce itself.

What Makes Natural Different

Patented non-directional Wave Mono fiber. Each blade is engineered to stand in its own direction rather than aligning with its neighbors. Conventionally tufted turf develops a visible grain, a direction the eye follows that gives away the product. Non-directional construction eliminates that. Walk around it, photograph it, view it from the street or from above, it reads the same way from every angle. For homeowners replacing a lawn with artificial grass in the Pacific Northwest where the goal is to stop thinking about the lawn, this is the construction that gets you closest to that.

Deluster finish. Most synthetic fibers have a natural sheen that reads as plastic in direct light. Natural's Deluster treatment reduces that surface reflectivity so the blades absorb light rather than bouncing it. In the Pacific Northwest this matters most on the rare sunny days when the difference between a realistic turf and an obviously synthetic one is most visible.

HeatBlock technology. Reduces surface temperature compared to standard polyethylene turf. Less relevant during Pacific Northwest winters, but meaningful during July and August when south and west-facing yards in Tacoma and Puyallup can get hot. Useful for households with barefoot kids and dogs.

Plant-based EnviroLoc+ backing, independently verified. The same soy-based backing system found in Northwest Blend. A significant portion of conventional petroleum-based polypropylene is replaced with biobased material derived from soybean oil, confirmed through the USDA BioPreferred program with a certification number on every roll. PFAS-free. The credentials are independently verified, not self-reported.

UV stabilized, built to last. UV stabilizers are built into the fiber to prevent fading. Limited lifetime warranty from the manufacturer. Real-world performance is 15 to 20 years, with foot traffic as the main variable.

Made in the USA. Verifiable material tolerances and independently tested safety data. Not imported, not private-labeled.

What makes Natural look more realistic than other turf products?

The patented Wave Mono non-directional fiber. Most turf is tufted in rows so the blades align in the same direction, which creates a visible grain the eye reads as artificial. Natural's construction grows each blade in its own direction, the same way real grass actually grows. There is no consistent grain to follow, no repeating pattern to pick up. It reads as grass from any angle.

What is Deluster and why does it matter?

Deluster is a treatment applied during manufacturing that reduces the surface sheen of the fiber. Synthetic fibers have a natural plastic reflectivity that can look artificial in direct sun. Deluster cuts that reflectivity so the blades absorb light rather than bounce it. In the Pacific Northwest this is most noticeable on sunny days when standard turf reads shiny and this one does not.

Is it good for dogs?

Yes. The EnviroLoc+ backing and PFAS-free materials make it a clean, safe surface for pets. The HeatBlock technology also keeps the surface cooler in summer, which is useful for dogs spending time outside during warmer months. For very heavy daily use with multiple large dogs in a dedicated run, we can talk through whether this or another product in our lineup is the better fit.

What is the soy-based backing and is it the same as Northwest Blend?

Yes, same system. EnviroLoc+ replaces a significant portion of petroleum-based polypropylene with biobased material derived from soybean oil. Confirmed through the USDA BioPreferred program with a certification number on every roll. PFAS-free. The environmental credentials are identical between the two products.

How long will it last?

Limited lifetime warranty from the manufacturer. Real-world performance is 15 to 20 years. Foot traffic is the main variable.

Is it safe for kids?

Yes. PFAS-free, lead-free, and contractor-grade certified safe for children and pets. HeatBlock helps keep the surface cooler on warm days, which matters for yards where kids play barefoot in summer.
