This custom putting green was installed at a modern residence in Gig Harbor, just minutes from the waterfront and downtown along Reid Drive. Tucked inside a private gated enclave overlooking the Puget Sound, the property reflects the kind of thoughtful architecture and material selection that defines some of Gig Harbor’s most refined homes. The outdoor living space needed to match that standard.

A custom synthetic turf putting green became the anchor outdoor element for fun and recreation

Design and Layout

Working within the clean geometry of the patio and steel framed exterior, we designed a green that softened the strong architectural lines without competing with them. Subtle curvature with corten steel edging was installed surrounding the green.

The green was shaped to allow multiple putting angles while still reading as a fun landscape feature from both ground level and upper floor vantage points.

Materials and Performance

For the putting surface, we installed NP50 nylon turf, a professional grade performance surface designed for consistent ball roll and long term durability. This is not landscape turf cut short. It is a purpose built putting surface.

A complementary fringe turf was installed to create depth and definition, framing the green while adding visual realism.

Beneath the surface, the base was precision graded and compacted to ensure smooth roll and structural stability. In waterfront areas of Gig Harbor, proper drainage and base preparation are critical. Moisture management is addressed below the surface so the green performs consistently in all seasons.
