Lake Tapps Artificial Putting Green Installation
Lake Tapps, WA
- Custom Putting Greens
This Lake Tapps homeowner had something most golfers only dream about, a waterfront property with enough elevation change to actually do something interesting with it. So we did.
The result is a three-tiered NP50 putting green that works with the natural grade of the lot rather than fighting it. Each level plays differently. The upper tier sits above the water with a view across Lake Tapps that makes a missed putt a little easier to forgive. Moving down through the tiers, varying pile heights create realistic approach scenarios, the kind of short game variety that keeps a green engaging after the novelty wears off.
The standout feature is the integrated synthetic sand bunker. Built with specialized artificial bunker turf, it replicates the awkward lies and recovery shots you'd face at a course like Chambers Bay. For a golfer serious about their short game, it's the difference between a fun backyard feature and a practice tool that actually moves the needle.
NP50 was the right surface for this project. It delivers a consistent, true ball roll in all weather conditions — important on a lakefront property where the Pacific Northwest climate is a year-round reality, not a seasonal consideration.
The low-maintenance design means the homeowner spends their time on the green, not maintaining it.
