Custom Gig Harbor Golf Green and Putting Green Install

This Gig Harbor artificial turf project came together around how the homeowners wanted to use their space day to day. The property had the room to do something meaningful with it, and the focus was on keeping the yard open, usable, and easy to maintain for a busy family. 

The main lawn was installed using 1.75 inch Evergreen synthetic turf. It gives the family a consistent surface to play sports with their kids and spend time outside without worrying about mud or worn out grass. The longer pile gives a realistic synthetic turf look while still holding up well to regular use.

The surrounding landscaping was completed by Gig Harbor's best landscaper and plays a big role in how the yard feels. Rockery walls, native plants, garden areas, sauna, chicken coop and the paver driveway all help frame the turf naturally and provide lots of fun things to do. A solid brick edge was installed around the turf to keep clean lines between the lawn, planting areas, and hardscape while helping the edges hold up over time.

The upper portion of the yard was dedicated to a large backyard putting and target green. The upper putting surface was built using NP50 nylon turf, with Bermuda Blend used as the first cut around the green. This combination creates a clear transition between surfaces and gives the green a look that feels right in the landscape.

The lower target green using Tour Shot Pro covers roughly 2,500 square feet and was shaped by Ridgetop Golf to allow approach shots from distances of up to 75 yards. The contours were designed to add interest without making the green overly aggressive, so it stays fun and usable for everyday practice.

This project is a good example of how synthetic turf in Pierce County can be used in a way that feels intentional rather than overdone. The result is a yard that works for family time, casual sports, and golf practice while staying low maintenance throughout the year.
